Happy Monday, y’all!
Turning 40 is a big deal and I have decided to welcome it with open arms! I highly suggest celebrating in a big way!
Life is good and I have learned so much over the past 40 years. There are definitely things I wish I had known in my 20s but it simply takes life experience to fully understand those things. If I could go back and share some things with my younger self, these would be included:
Sunscreen is always a good idea
You can’t be everything to everybody
People show you who they are, believe them
No one can tell you what you must go through on your own
Save money
Stop caring what others think of you
Set boundaries in relationships and stick with them
Smile at strangers
It’s okay to say “no”
Don’t let insecurity keep you from trying new things
Not everyone is going to like you and that’s okay
You don’t have to explain yourself
Be willing to be vulnerable
Be grateful
Hurting people hurt people
Dance
Tell those you love that you love them
Invest in your true friends
Let negative people go
Exercise
If you don’t believe in you, no one else will
We aren’t perfect; why act like we are?
Flirt with your husband
Pray
Give compliments freely
If it doesn’t work out, there is a reason
Laugh
Cry
Try new things
You can’t pour from an empty cup
Read
Never settle
If you need help, ask someone
Be generous
Don’t assume
Do things that scare you
Work hard
Comparison will steal your joy
Go with your gut
Be yourself
What do y’all think? Agree? Disagree? What would you add?
I can’t wait to see what is in store this year! Bring it!
Have a fantastic day, y’all! Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Don’t forget to follow along on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter!
