Hey y’all! I’ve mentioned before how much our friends and family helped during Hurricane Harvey, but I wanted to share what that really means and how we thanked them with a Hurricane Harvey Party! The florals by HEB Blooms stole the show! I wanted our guests to walk into a subtle tropical theme and I think we nailed it!
I think our friends found it just as satisfying as we did to see our home completed. They were there immediately following the flood ripping out drywall, moving our flooded furniture out of the house, packing the things that didn’t get wet, and dealing with some very, very dirty flood water. Those were just the physical things. They also babysat our kids so we could work at the house, they provided meals, and they checked on us constantly. It felt so good to know we had such support and we are so grateful to have this friend group in our lives.
This stunning arrangement was definitely the focal point of the kitchen. The colors were so vibrant and it help set the tone for the rest of the party.
We decided to cater the party to make it extra special for our friends and what better restaurant than Tommy Bahama to keep with the tropical theme? We had two fantastic waiters/bartenders to meet the needs of our guests and make them feel completely taken care of. Not pictured are their delicious Mai Tais!
We had several arrangements so we were able to sprinkle them around the house and onto the patio. It made the party flow easily to the outdoors.
One thing I swear by for outdoor parties are these little votives. They look stunning when the sun starts to go down and add a simple yet striking detail to the gathering.
This little love was the ultimate host at the party! She greeted every guest and made sure they knew were the food and drinks were –the cutest!
We had the best time with our friends and family and pray that we can repay their kindness and support! Hurricane Harvey taught us so many things but most importantly it reminded us how blessed we are and how loved we are!
