Coming up with a birthday party theme for boy/girl twins can be challenging! For my kiddos last birthday, they were thrilled to have a Mermaid and Shark birthday party! Not too girly and not too masculine!
This party was almost a year ago! When I took my blog break I missed out on sharing some fun events and will definitely catch up! This party was one of our favorites of 2017. These sweet kids want their OWN parties this year and I can’t wait to share those in a couple of months.
A little tablecloth tip: instead of buying plastic which can only be used once or an expensive cloth tablecloth buy fabric. I usually head to the local fabric store and always find something that will work! It’s washable and reusable! Win-win!
I think the key to any successful party is in the details. For instance why have regular sandwiches when you can have mermaid tails? And why have regular jello when you can have pretend ocean water, sand, and a fish!
If you’ve been following Thoughtfully Styled for long, you know I swear by Cake Conspiracy. She does all of my personal cakes and when I style a party for a client I use her when ever possible. Not only are they amazing looking cakes but they taste so wonderful as well! Look at the shark and mermaid tails — these exceeded my expectations!
The crab croissant sandwiches were a big hit!
The sea FOAM was the best party of the party according to party goers!
My sweet hubby in the background making sure everyone comes out of the foam!
At the time of this party our pool wasn’t in yet so we brought in a foam pit to create sea foam! The kids LOVED it! Our neighbors wondered what the heck was going on but that’s okay!
