Happy Friday, y’all! It seems like lately, more than ever, people have asked me about blogging. “Why do you blog?”, “What is blogging?”, “Do you make money blogging?” I’ve decided to answer these questions and share a little more about myself in the process! So, here’s why I blog!
BLOGGING IS GLAMOROUS : HA! UMMMM, NOT AT ALL!
In this post for instance, it was about 100 degrees outside, I was sweating so badly and I remember having several other outfits to shoot that day as well! In these moments I wonder why in the world I put myself in this situation. I’m a mom of preschoolers and in order to shoot I must either bring them (terrible idea!) or find a sitter. So much goes into what looks like a simple outfit post! But, when someone says they got inspiration from something I posted or and idea they hadn’t thought of before, it makes it worth it!
BLOGGING IS EASY : I ACTUALLY USED TO THINK THAT!
While the end result of each post is beautiful pictures there is so much that goes into each blog post. These pretty little glasses were part of a baby shower which had an insane amount of details. I loved every minute of the planning and execution but it was not easy.
Another example of pretty pictures that took a lot of planning and prep time to execute. I love how they turned out and it makes all of the effort totally worth it!
I CAN DO IT ALL BY MYSELF : NOPE, I NEED MY TRIBE!
These are a few of the lovely ladies I’ve met through blogging. We all have different blogs with different content but all want to do our best, learn as much as possible and produce great content. We learn so much from one another and there is a sense of community rather than competition. I truly feel blessed to be a part of this group of ladies.
I’M MY OWN BOSS : TECHNICALLY YES, BUT NOT COMPLETELY!
I definitely own my own business, but when working with clients I definitely have deadlines to meet and contracts to fulfill. I also do A LOT of “grunt” work! Some of my least favorite parts of blogging are centered around the technical stuff. The behind the scenes, monotonous tasks that are just not fun but completely necessary in order to keep the blog functioning properly.
I blog because I find great satisfaction in a job well done. I get to share my creative side and hopefully share a bit of joy and inspiration to others. I love having this outlet that is solely mine. I can’t wait to see all of the amazing places this little blog will take me in the future. I’ve got some big collaborations in the works and lots of fun things to share with y’all!
Thank you for reading “why I blog” and for supporting Thoughtfully Styled, it truly means the world to me!
Have a great weekend, y’all!

I was just in ABQ this weekend and was asked the same thing. I agree though, it’s not easy. Especially the technical aspect.
