Hey y’all! I planned on getting this post out so long ago but it turns out that the details of this renovation are keeping me quite busy! So without further ado, here’s Home Renovation Part 2!
Before Hurricane Harvey I decided to paint the cabinets in the kitchen. I had never liked the color but was nervous about this decision. I asked Stine Hollesen from Pure Interior Design to help! Little did I know we’d never get the cabinets painted and that the project would get SO much bigger thanks to Hurricane Harvey. I have no doubt that God knew exactly what was going on and what I would need because Stine was my angel throughout the rebuild. I was emotional and scared and completely overwhelmed after the flood. Stine guided and pushed when she needed to but in the end wanted the house to represent my family instead of what was there before. All of the “major” renovations were Stine’s ideas. Stine’s ideas transformed my home and made it more functional.
The first major change is the two sets of double doors in the living room. Previously we had 8 windows. Four windows were removed and doors were put in place. They look amazing and have made our outdoor space feel like part of the house.
Here is before the flood. I always loved the windows but what a difference adding doors makes to the room.
This is right after furniture was moved in. It’s so close be being all styled and I can’t wait to share the new pics with y’all.
The other major change was opening up the wall to our media room. Stine suggested moving the entrance to the media room to open up to the main living space and boy has that changed everything! We rarely used the media room before because it was so closed off. Now, we use it more as a family room and are in there a lot. I am thrilled to be using more of our home.
This is before the renovation. The big picture on the left is where the large barn door is now leading to the media room. It’s such a drastic change.
Thanks for enduring my quick iPhone snaps, I have much better quality coming up for y’all!
If you need guidance about renovations definitely contact Stine, she was amazing to work with. What I love most about her is that she let me have my vision and be involved in every single step and decision. I couldn’t’ be happier with how it all turned out!
Check back soon as I will start sharing each room! Starting with the kiddos!
