Hello y’all! If you’ve been following along for any length of time you know I’m obsessed with the holidays AND family! I thought it would be fun to show you how I select outfits for our Christmas photos each year. Here are a few family photo ideas and tips!
TIP 1 : BLEND, BUT DON’T MATCH

This pic is from last year and it definitely one of my favorites. We added a bit of color but not too much. I like for our photos to be able to be displayed in our home and since the house pretty neutral I make sure there is not too much color.
TIP #2 : SUBTLY MIX PATTERNS AND TEXTURES

We got super dressed up for these pics because we decided to kill two birds with one stone and have family pics taken before my husband’s company party. It worked out perfectly!
TIP #3 : ALLOW EACH PERSON TO HAVE A STATEMENT PIECE

Sometimes the girls will outshine the boys because they get to have fun accessories. Well, the boys can too! A cute tie, hat, or suspenders keep them in the game as well. I have to admit I miss these babies SO much!
TIP #4 : MAKE SURE EVERYONE IS COMFORTABLE

Sometimes being comfortable means sitting down! I remember for these pics our kiddos were running around like crazy until we put them on our laps. They loved taking pics that way, they felt more secure being with mommy and daddy.
TIP #5 : HAVE FUN

Natural smiles are always the best smiles, so have fun!
I save a copy (or 3) of our Christmas card each year and I hang them all together each Christmas. It is so fun to look back and see how everyone has changed and grown. I will continue this tradition as long as possible!
Do you do Christmas pictures every year? I’d love to hear any fun traditions!
Have a great week y’all!
