Hi everyone! We are Kate and Kendra from the Blog Dress Your Guests and we are so happy to be teaming up with the lovely ladies behind Thoughtfully Styled. With the upcoming anticipation of the Oscars this week, we wanted to create a laid back luxe look that you can wear to a party at home with your girlfriends. We have broken down our outfit formulas below. We hope your head to our blog to see how our new friends from this beautiful blog, Thoughtfully Styled, have approached this trend.

For me, Kate, I’m loving track pants right now. As the sporty chic trend continues to gain popularity so does this silhouette. These pants were the foundation of my girls night in outfit as they meet my two favorite criteria classy and comfy. Layered with a chunky knit sweater the look becomes effortless and easy. In our book, a night out with friends whether on the sofa or at dinner still requires a pretty pump. Both my outfit and Kendra’s can be accompanied with chic sneaks and still look polished but we reverse flats for daytime. No look at DYG is complete without our signature bold lip.  My favorite gloss that moisturizes and provides that bright pop is Laura Mercier’s Lip Glace.  Did I mention that it also smells like vanilla?! To finish the look I liked trying out the new black bow trend that you are seeing in every magazine and on the runway. Not into the big bow? Keep it simple with just a simple knot around a ponytail and let the black ribbon hang gracefully on each side.

For me, Kendra, I love a night out but also love a good night in with friends. It’s definitely an excuse to dress down and feel comfortable in a chic and effortless way. To add that extra glam to my otherwise laidback look I added in these sparkly pumps. This way when you arrive you look super chic but can then kick them off and relax. I threw on a grey comfy tank and an oversized sweater (that could double as a blanket ~ win win!) with my favorite distressed denim to complete the look. I don’t like lounging in super tight skinny jeans which is why I opted for the boyfriend fit. A bold lip is a must even if if ends up coming off by the 2nd glass of wine and 10th handful of popcorn. It will give your look a polished feel, even if you are sitting around with friends watching tv.
